Comicbinding.com

In early 2010, binding comic books into custom hardback volumes was growing in popularity thanks to a Texas binding company called Library Binding Company–which was made popular by the podcast Comic Geek Speak. Information on the hobby was scattered across many forums and discussion boards, none of which were in an easily searchable format. With the help of two popular binding forum members, we created a site with the goal of presenting easily searchable maps (lists of comics and the order in which to bind them).

Relying on the binding community for content, the site features public registration that’s protected against spam accounts using rules set in the admin area. The site also features custom code to allow for users to upload multiple images and have their own image galleries. Users can add posts/maps to a save list for future reference and also rank individual posts on a scale of 1-5. Shortly after the site was launched in March 2010, the Library Binding Company in Texas was bought out – which put a noticeable damper on the quickly growing hobby. With other companies offering similar services, the site has a steady and active user base.
