Doc Venture in Trouble?

Mark your calendars for June 1st. Venture Brothers’ co-creator Jackson Publick announced that Season 3 of the Venture Brothers will premier on June 1. In less than 2 months we’ll finally have more episodes of what I consider to be one of the greatest cartoons ever.

Publick also announced that work is already underway on a Season 3 DVD set and scripts are being written for Season 4. I would expect Season 3 to be slightly more ambitious plot wise, since the creators know that they have another season to follow up.

ventureSeason3Cast

Venture Brothers creator Jackson Publick has released a Season 3 “cast photo” featuring many of the characters that will appear in the first 2/3 of Season 3’s episodes. Just looking at all of the odd characters makes me excited for Season 3. Can’t wait.

As a bonus, if you can answer the following 2 questions correctly, you could win a prize. Just leave a comment on the Publick Nuisance – Holiday Gift Bonanza!!! post.

1. Which of these characters, if any, does this room actually belong to?
2. There are three famous, non-fictional people in the picture. Name all three.

Christmas has come and gone and I hope everyone had a merry one, but it’s still not too late for a little Christmas nugget of fun.

Every year AstroBase Go (Jackson Publick & Doc Hammer) produce a Venture Brothers related Christmas MP3. They’re always great and this year’s song is no exception. Visit QuickStopEntertainment.com to hear the Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend sing “Fairytale of New York” and check out the archived links of previous years tunes. The 2006 “Venture Aid” is still the best.

Normally, I wouldn’t post something as regular as DVD releases. I did it for Batman and Superman a few weeks back because those are some personal favorites and ones I didn’t think we’d see on DVD anytime soon. So, why am I following it up with the announcement of Harvey Birdman – Attorney at Law: volume 3? Simple, read the press release.

HERE IT IS! HARVEY BIRDMAN, ATTORNEY AT LAW, THE THIRD DVD! Yep, that’s right: THE THIRD DVD! How many shows can say they’ve got three DVD – I’m sorry? All right. Green Acres, but that was a classic. How many recent sho – Full House? SIX DVDs?! You’ve gotta be kidding! Friggin’ Saget. All right, how many animated, 15 minute shows with horny hippopotami and nearly incestuous one-eyed father/superhero daughter relationships have three DVDs? That’s right, smart slacks: One. And it’s Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. And this is its third DVD.

That’s hilarious. That’s got to be the first press release with a Bob Saget / Full House slam in it. A great press release for a great show. If you’ve never watched, all you need to know is Gary Cole and Steven Colbert both do voices on the show.
