It’s time for some Spider-Man. Since Spider-Man 3 is just around the corner, I thought I would start adding Spider-Man related characters to the Who’s OHotMU site.

Take a look at the entry, it’s quite detailed. All of that is from the 2004 All New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe – Spider-Man edition. I’ll add the info from the 2005 book in a day or two. Just reading makes a person crazy. Peter Parker has experienced a lot of death and loss in his lifetime. From the recent books, that may not be the end of it either.

Normally, I wouldn’t post something as regular as DVD releases. I did it for Batman and Superman a few weeks back because those are some personal favorites and ones I didn’t think we’d see on DVD anytime soon. So, why am I following it up with the announcement of Harvey Birdman – Attorney at Law: volume 3? Simple, read the press release.

HERE IT IS! HARVEY BIRDMAN, ATTORNEY AT LAW, THE THIRD DVD! Yep, that’s right: THE THIRD DVD! How many shows can say they’ve got three DVD – I’m sorry? All right. Green Acres, but that was a classic. How many recent sho – Full House? SIX DVDs?! You’ve gotta be kidding! Friggin’ Saget. All right, how many animated, 15 minute shows with horny hippopotami and nearly incestuous one-eyed father/superhero daughter relationships have three DVDs? That’s right, smart slacks: One. And it’s Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. And this is its third DVD.

That’s hilarious. That’s got to be the first press release with a Bob Saget / Full House slam in it. A great press release for a great show. If you’ve never watched, all you need to know is Gary Cole and Steven Colbert both do voices on the show.

The Pan-African Congress on the Treatment of Supernumans (left to right): Afrikaa (of Mohannda), Zanda (exiled Princess of Narobia), Queen Ororo (of Wakanda), King T’Challa (of Wakanda), Man-Ape (representing Wakanda’s Jabari tribe), Moses Magnum (of Canaan), and President N’Dingi (of Mbangawi)

I just recently posted an entry for the Marvel character Man-Ape, when low and behold, he pops up in the Civil War Battle Damage Report. While not really a “comic,” the Battle Damage Report is a text heavy, encyclopedic 60+ pages of info and bios brought up to date with Marvel’s recent Civil War event.

As you can probably tell from previous entries, I can’t get enough of this type of book. If I had to guess, it stems from my childhood. I remember reading the original Marvel Handbooks and DC Who’s Who series and thinking how cool they were.

It’s been rumored for some time now that EMI would begin to offer DRM free music. It was announced today in London and it sounds like a win-win situation if you’re into downloading music from iTunes.

Songs will be encoded at 256kbps AAC (current is 128kbps) and sold at $1.29 per song, $0.30 more per song than the current price. These will be offered along side the existing lower quality, DRM tracks, and consumers can choose.

Entire album purchases will stay at the same price, but have the higher audio quality and will be DRM free.

I never liked iTunes download quality and the 256kbps will certainly solve that problem. The $1.29 per song is reasonable for per song purchases. The best part of the deal isn’t even highlighted. Entire album purchases will be the same price (usually $9.99), but will now be the higher quality (256kbps) DRM free versions.

I think iTunes and music downloads in general could look very different by the end of this year.
