Amity Island T-Shirt from Last Exit to NowhereCamp Crystal Lake T-Shirt from Last Exit to Nowhere

It’s always cool to find new t-shirts and you’ll find plenty of them if you’re into movies at Last Exit to Nowhere. Rather than blatant movie tie-ins, the shirts are all clever nods at many classic (or maybe cult-classic) films. See if you can spot all of the movies without reading the shirt descriptions.

Now the bad. Since they’re in the UK, buying and getting one shirt to the U.S. would cost about $40. So, I don’t think I’ll be getting an Amity Island shirt anytime soon.

I’m not a Guitar Hero player. Partly because I don’t have a console to play it on and mostly because I don’t need anything else to distract me from the 100 other things that I need/want to do daily. Having said that, it looks like an incredibly fun game that plays right to my high-school, heavy metal days. If you’ve watched the video, you’ve seen the insanity that is the song “Through the Fire and the Flames byDragonForce. It’s got to be humanly impossible to do that on a video-game guitar. News I’ve read says the song/level is only a bonus, so it’s not part of the game play path of the full game.

Image of the Hidden Mother/Child in Da Vinci’s Last Supper

I think someone’s been watching/reading too much Da Vinci Code. The idea that Da Vinci hid an image of a mother and a child in the Last Supper and it can only be seen when a mirror image of the painting is overlaid on the original is insane. Seriously.

Putting a mirror image of any image over itself and reducing the transparency will create all kinds of weirdness, especially in a photo/image full of figures. The mirrored and overlaid image may reveal what looks to be a mother and child, but it is pure accident. Looking at the image, I think it looks like Jesus is looking at the sky with his mouth open and is surrounded by ghosts. That’s not hidden in the image, it’s the mirror image. Seriously, this guy has too much time on his hands and to report it as news even makes it worse.

Carter and I had lunch with the Nashville KNI crew today. It’s been a while since I’ve seen these guys, so it was cool to do a quick catch up. Although with Carter along, he did most of the talking. The funny thing is, at almost 4 years old, he fit right in with the rest of us. He was talking Transformers (even old school ones), Ninja Turtles, Batman, Star Wars, Ratatouille and everything else. It’s always fun for me to watch others interact with him. I’m so used to the things he does and the mannerisms he has, seeing others react to it, really points them out.

Daniel picked up on Carter’s willingness to talk and was “parenting” right away. He was enticing Carter to eat “one more bite” before he would reveal his favorite Transformer.

I wish I had seen Michael’s Yewknee Redesign before meeting up so I could compliment him in person. It’s a great looking revision that gives the content much more room to breath. Not to be modest, but I think usability/communication is the most important thing that Michael and I learned at MTSU in the graphic communication (now called Media Design) program and I’ve no doubt that it is also one of the key factors (along with Daniel’s illustration skills) that have propelled them both to web rock-star status. Great friends that I should really try to see a little more often.
